We are currently  in search of an enthusiastic,  talented  individuals  for  the position of Plant 4 Day Production Supervisor, in Westlake , LA.   Production Supervisor is responsible for the supervising production employees in order to meet production schedules, safety,  health, environmental,  quality, and cost objectives. This position will report to the Production Manager. This position requires hands on leadership, combined with driving continuous improvement and the ability to inspire employee Involvement. Essential Job Functions

 Primary Responsibilities

  • Supervise production operations to ensure scheduled workflow and proper the use of personnel, and ensure the production objectives are met.
  • Responsible for supervising activities of production to achieve production rates that meet or exceed standards including communicating daily with Operations and Maintenance on job priorities.
  • Develops specific short-term and long-term plans and programs.
  • Ensure the identification of product quality problems and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Directs and participates with improving operating efficiencies, reducing costs, training as needed, and taking timely corrective actions.
  • Initiate work notifications in SAP, participate in Management of Change (MOC) and incident investigations as required.
  • Ensures records and accurate production reports and counts, machine speeds, line down time and other data called out in SOPs.
  • Supervises all aspects of personnel performance, staffing, training and discipline within the department. Ensures that duties, responsibilities, authority, and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood.
  • Provides reports to subordinates on interpretation of results and approves changes in direction of plans.
  • Capable of managing operations of a 24hour/ 7 days, two 12 hour shift production facility
  • Keeps production standards up to date. Track efficiencies and rework. Communicate this information to line teams.
  • Ensures that proper levels of Health & Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, housekeeping, and quality are maintained at all times.

Qualifications

  • Engineering Degree in Technical, Chemical or Mechanical, and with 5 years of chemical manufacturing experience as a supervisor.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to affect change, consistently drive results, and influence all levels of the organization.
  • The ability to react with urgency to achieve objectives and deadlines despite obstacles and time pressures.
  • Safety Driven Individual
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work cross-functionally with other departments.
  • 2-3 years experience in managing greater than 15 fulltime employees, with robust skills in communications and mentoring subordinates to influence change.
  • Accomplished in driving production schedules, and improving production efficiency
  • Skilled in Lean Manufacturing, team building, quality control and assurance.
  • Proficient with computer; SAP, MS Office, etc.
