KIK Consumer Brands – Pool Division KIK’s Pool Additives Division (“Pool”) is a leading player in North America and key international markets with a broad brand and product portfolio spanning both the Mass and Specialty Retailer channels. We are well known for our Clorox® Pool&Spa™ products in the North American Mass channel, our BioGuard® brand in the North American, Australian and South Africa Specialty channel, and our Bayrol brand across Europe. Our multi-functional product formulations and innovative water testing innovations allow pool owners to safely and easily enjoy their backyard retreat.

 

Our Pool Division is currently seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and talented individual for the position of Plant Controller within our Consumer Brands Division (KCB). This position is based out of the Lake Charles location in Westlake, Louisiana and will report to the VP of Finance.

Essential Job Functions

Job Duties

  • Provide creative solutions to complex accounting / finance issues as they arise using past experiences and sound judgment to come up with creative proactive solutions.   This is a very hands-on position.
  • Daily activities include accounting activities from posting to the GL, month end close, through P&L and Balance statements. The development of policies, controls, and procedures that ensure the protection of the facility assets are in place, maintained and are followed.
  • Provides accurate financial information and analysis and present findings and recommendations that allow the Plant Manager to make rational and data based decisions.
  • Pro-actively identify improvements, determine and implements short and long term strategies concerning profitability and efficiency.
  • Hands-on General Ledger, Standard Costing, Inventory Control, and Fixed Asset functions.
  • Prepares annual budgets and periodical forecasting updates.
  • Works closely with plant personnel and observes plant operations in order to assist with and to make recommendations for improvement in plant operations.
  • Monitors, approves and analyzes plant spending and capital projects.
  • Prepares quarterly, monthly and periodic Financial Reports and Analysis for submission to both the Plant and Corporate Finance team and performs local financial analysis for Plant Management.
  • Assure completion of monthly closing requirements, assure accurate standard costs, perform required cost and variance analysis, meet forecast requirements and coordinate annual budget process.
  • Assure plant’s compliance with GAAP, policies & procedures and Sarbanes Oxley requirements
  • Seeks out opportunities for continuous improvement in a Lean Manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of manufacturing accounting leadership experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
  • ERP Experience—SAP manufacturing experience mandatory
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Track record of driving cost reductions
  • Must be an articulate leader, with strong PowerPoint and presentation skills. Presents findings and weekly financial presentations to Plant Leadership Team in daily production meetings and weekly to KIK's Corporate and Divisional Finance Team
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • CPA is a plus
