General Summary


The Business Development Manager, is a plant-based key customer advocate and sales growth leader within CBI Laboratories. The role is responsible for the overall business profitability of the Professional Private Label Spa business including the maintenance/growth of the current customers, new customer growth, customer relationship health, and adherence to contractual content. The Professional Private Label Spa business sells professional grade spa products to licensed estheticians and Doctors as well as printing and labeling services for the products. This role will report to the Vice President, Prestige Beauty, but will partner with Site Leadership to provide a site-based point of escalation with high influence and collaboration to ensure alignment with strategic sales growth and service goals. Professional Private Label Spa Sales and Customer Service Representatives will report to this position. The Business Development Manager is a key partner to the Professional Private Label Spa Marketing & Education peer employee to ensure product offerings and services are current, competitive and support the department’s growth objectives.



Essential Job Functions


  • Maintain strong relationships with the professional spa customer contacts – DELIGHT the CUSTOMER!
  • Monitor revenue sold versus forecast; identify any disparity and begin corrective actions if necessary. Report on these numbers monthly including a forward looking forecast
  • Implement sales employee goals and metrics; track call activity and adherence to growth targets through Infor CRM sales tool
  • Monitor marketing campaign success, supporting head of marketing with sales numbers related to each campaign
  • Monitor profitability by SKU, and take corrective action to maintain margins
  • Monitor life cycle of SKUs and rationalize or reformulate to improve
  • Manage pricing process with customers (negotiation, price maintenance, AR resolution)
  • Minimal travel to trade shows as needed, approximately 4-5 shows annually in USA
  • Train, coach and implement process improvements within Sales and Customer Service teams
  • Work with Purchasing and Operations to ensure inventory levels of product maintained and sold to customers on a FIFO basis 
  • Coordinate the activities of the Professional Private Label Spa Sales and Customer Service Representatives
  • Responsible for onboarding, professional development, and employee feedback to assist the employees to meet the expectations of the business




Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

  • Four-year degree (or higher) required in area of discipline
  • Three years supervisory experience
  • Experience in personal care manufacturing Business Development or similar industry
