We are well known for our Clorox® Pool&Spa™ (under license), Pool Time® and Pool Essentials® products in North American retailers, our BioGuard® brand in North American and Australian professional channels and our Bayrol® brand across Europe. Our Pool Division is currently seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and talented individual for the position of District Sales and Service Manager within our Consumer Brands Division (KCB).

 

 

KIK Houston is immediately seeking a high performing, growing accounting professional that is looking to make a valuable contribution and is searching for opportunity to progress. The Senior Cost Accountant will support and report to the plant's Controller.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assistance with standard costing and  inventory control, maintenance of general ledger and fixed assets, periodic financial reporting, as well as other special projects as assigned.

Assistance with Standard Costing

 

Maintenance of cost accounting system including:

  • Setup and revisions to bills of materials
  • Updates to standard cost of materials
  • Gather and analyze information relating to manufacturing processes to assist with setup and revisions to labor and overhead absorption
  • Prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual
  • Inventory Control:
  • Assist with full physical and cycle counts
  • Work with manufacturing and warehouse personnel to track and reconcile inventory discrepancies/variances
  • Analysis of slow-moving and/or obsolete inventory
  • General - Assist with:
  • Maintenance of general ledger including review of material variances and absorption
  • Monthly, quarterly and annual close of general ledger
  • Preparation of periodic management reports and accompanying schedules
  • Maintenance of fixed asset and associated depreciation schedules including working with engineering and maintenance personnel to track and reconcile CIP
  • Preparation of capital requests including appropriate economic analysis when required and assure backup documentation is adequate
  • Responsible for the Payroll function, including e-time, review and correction of time-cards as necessary, and submission of payroll for processing
  • Preparation of quarterly and annual regulatory filings at the plant level
  • Annual external and internal control audits including completion of requested schedules
  • Document policies, procedures and work-flow for assigned areas of responsibility
  • Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or General Business with a concentration in Accounting
  • Candidate should be proficient with US GAAP, accounting knowledge specific to manufacturing
  • 3 to 5 years experience with increasing responsibilities in accounting
  • Must meet deadlines and deliver quality results
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Strong MS Office skills particularly Excel, Word, Power-Point
  • JD Edwards a significant asset

Must have excellent analytical communication skills, be well organized and a team player
