    Site Overview

    Custom Division's Georgia contract manufacturing plant is located conveniently in Gainesville with 300,000 square feet of production space. The facility runs 24 hours at 5 days a week and is registered and compliant with the FDA, EPA, & cGMP. The facility is capable of manufacturing quality products in the following: steel or aluminum aerosol cans, bag on valve, and liquid filling for plastic, glass, or composite containers packaging/filling services.

     

     

    We are searching for a results-driven  Compounding Manager  to lead KIK Gainesville's Chemical Compounding team.  This individual will be the key leader who will drive improvements and guide their talented compounding team up to the next level -  a world class department. The successful candidate has at least 7- 10 years’ experience in managing shift teams in chemicals manufacturing including chemicals receiving, processing, overseeing and directing all batching activities of high quality formulations and ensuring smooth delivery to filling lines as necessary to supply production and meet customer needs. Track record of driving improvement in a  large full service manufacturing is critical to success.  Communication skills, and sharp technical expertise are essential to collaborate and interface closely with the production teams, R&D team, and our customers.

    Essential Job Functions

    EXPECTATIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Train and provide direct guidance to compounding Supervisor(s) to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), FDA regulations and assure formula recipe processes are strictly adhered to
    • Ensure that required compounding equipment is maintained in good working order, clean and available for use as needed
    • Identify equipment & techniques to carry out batching activities with progressively reduced reliance on manual operations
    • Utilize Lean, Six Sigma and 5S tools to engage the associates in continuous improvement efforts
    • Participate in determining the root cause of batch failures, safety issues, waste or any impediment to batch throughput and implement solutions to prevent the likelihood of recurrence
    • Responsible for investigating any production non-conformance and customer complaints
    • Coordinates with Warehouse and Purchasing in obtaining on-time delivery of materials necessary for production
    • Actively participate in assessing and communicating new products/processes with current and potential customers
    • Work closely with R&D Department to develop/implement new products and to improve existing products and technologies
    • Monitor team and individual performances
    • Participate and direct new test batches, process validation & documentation

    Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    Ideal Candidate Requirements:

      • Bachelor’s Degree in any Engineering discipline preferred ( ChE, ME, EE)

      • Minimum 7 years chemical compounding experience managing at least 15 team members over 3 shifts
      • Lean Tools and Experience leading in lean environment

      • Highly proficient in MS Office, with strong data management ability
      • Must have Chemical experience and knowledge  - required to understand chemical reactions
      • Prior experience managing batching/blending/compounding activities in a variety of batch sizes from small up to 5000 gal
