KIK Consumer Brands – Household Division Our Household Division (“Household”) is the #1 player in North American private label bleach, and supplies private label cleaning programs to prominent American retailers. Although Household started as a small bleach plant in Concord, Ontario, we have since expanded to a network of 8 plants strategically located across the United States to efficiently manufacture a variety of cleaners for both hard and soft surfaces. . In addition to its private label portfolio, Household manufactures and markets Greased Lighting® and The Works® branded products.


KIK Consumer Brands – Pool Division KIK’s Pool Additives Division (“Pool”) is a leading player in North America and key international markets with a broad brand and product portfolio spanning both the Mass and Specialty Retailer channels. We are well known for our Clorox® Pool&Spa™ products in the North American Mass channel, our BioGuard® brand in the North American, Australian and South Africa Specialty channel, and our Bayrol brand across Europe. Our multi-functional product formulations and innovative water testing innovations allow pool owners to safely and easily enjoy their backyard retreat.



This posting is for our Classic Division which specializes in both Pool & Spa and Household categories.


Essential Job Functions


  • Translate desired market concepts, claims and consumer benefits into detailed technical deliverables; lead product development efforts – utilizing both internal & external resources - from ideation through tech transfer (Stage Gate Process); deliver innovative, commercially successful new products
  • Partner with Procurement team to leverage innovative supply partners, qualify new raw material sources & functional equivalents, and proactively design product formulations to optimize growth, supply risk, and total cost of ownership.
  • Foster safety across entire R&D organization; drive product safety & stewardship initiatives.
  • Provide on-going technical support for product portfolio with Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, & Quality teams
  • Collaborate with Regulatory sub-teams. This includes all activity surrounding EPA, FIFRA, GLP, GMP, FDA and other state and federal regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated expertise and outstanding results in chemical formulation based in Consumer Packaged Goods and/or Personal Care Products
  • Strong technical formulation and product development expertise
  • Creative and efficient technical solution developer / problem solver
  • Strong people and project management skills
  • Strong business acumen and skills
  • Strong business partner relationship management capability both internal and external
  • Demonstrated experience in direct management of technical team regarding all aspects or R&D, from ideation to commercialization.
  • Strong analytical skills and detail focused;  thorough understanding of chemistry concepts, reactions, and incompatibilities
  • High degree of energy, efficient, independence (self-starter) and ability to set and ensure team meets or exceeds targets in a challenging and dynamic work environment



  • B.S. Chemistry / Biology or other hard science
  • Advanced Degree preferred but not required
  • 7 plus years experince in Research and Developement
