Responsible for leading the Supplier Quality Management program of the KCM Division of KIK Custom Products.  Manages the supplier selection and approval process.  Provides oversight of suppliers/manufacturers of APIs, excipients, components; CMOs; CPOs and GMP services to ensure products, controls, policies and process meet KIK’s expectations with respect to levels of quality and regulatory compliance. Directs and manages internal and external auditing functions and uses a risk based approach to the audit program and ensures that the internal customers have visibility to the audit schedule and results as well as the external customers as required.

Essential Job Functions

  • Manage the Supplier Quality program for KCM.  This includes ensuring a compliant and lean program along with a successful execution.  This includes the maintenance of standardized supplier quality operating procedures across all sites and training of impacted personnel.
  • Develop and execute supplier quality objectives through the coordination of activities with procurement, packaging technology and site management.
  • Drive first-time quality and related performance indicators at the source.  This includes continuous improvement of NC process to identify raw material/component issues and implement plans to reduce reoccurrences, risks and costs.
  • Establish supplier KPI’s and act as liaison with procurement to provide corresponding scorecard and feedback which monitors the quality performance of key suppliers.
  • Identity areas of continuous improvement and facilitate establishment of appropriate supplier quality related priorities.
  • Ensure supplier quality related documentation is properly maintained and compliant with good documentation practices including supplier quality agreements, risk assessments and audits. Responsible for quality assessments and audits including the qualification of new suppliers.
  • Provide periodic reports describing the state of the supplier quality, opportunities and performance of suppliers.
  • Provide guidance to the division quality team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree (or higher) in area of discipline.
  • Minimum 7+ years’ experience in Supplier Quality management in FDA regulated manufacturing environment such as personal care, OTC, Medical Device, or pharmaceuticals manufacturing.
  • Travel to supplier and division sites is expected as necessary.
  • Auditing experience (can be as either internal or external auditing) is required along with certification.
  • Experience utilizing risk management strategies and tools is required.
  • API Supplier Quality experience is preferred.
  • Management experience preferred.
  • Experience and expertise in the areas of plastic and glass bottles, plastic and metal caps, blister packs, foils, adhesives, labels, seals, printing, inserts, folding cartons, and desiccants is preferred
