    We are expanding our Innovations team and hiring an Innovation Chemist.  We are seeking a creative formulation development professional with strengths in development of skincare, haircare and beauty products.   This vital support role is responsible for executing a wide range of day-to-day formulations, QA, and stability testing procedures for the haircare/skincare/beauty products development and production. This position reports to the R&D Manager.
     
     

    Essential Job Functions

    • Development or improvement of new or existing haircare/skincare/beauty products
    • Analytical and stability testing in accordance with approved protocols, methods and SOP’s
    • Investigation and trouble shooting of out of specification batches and formula related customer complaints
    • Sourcing of new Chemicals and Packaging for product development
    • Monthly reports 
    • Supervision of pilot and full-scale qualification batches 
    • Support innovative activity by developing new products and processes 
    • Develop and validate analytical chemistry test procedures for personal care products ensuring accurate results are produced 
    • Conduct and monitor product stability testing of all experimental formulae and national brands in a timely manner 
    • Assist in developing product performance test method to screen experimental formulae prior to a third party submission 
    • Maintain all lab records up to date per GMP-GLP requirements to include MSDSs, product/raw material specifications, third party test results, logbooks and all other lab records as required 
    • Organize, maintain and replenish all the chemicals used in product development lab 
    • Maintain accuracy and reliability of all laboratory instruments 
    • Interface with plant Technical Services for product and method transfers 
    • Develop and conduct marketing claim support and/or work with vendors to complete 

    Qualifications

    • Minimum Bachelor Degree and 5+ years related experience in Personal Care products formulation and liquid color matching
    • Good communication skills
    • Innovative and Collaborative
    • Strong customer relationship skills
