    We are searching for a Compounding Production Manager to lead a dynamic team of 50 staff members across 4 shifts at  KIK Cortland's Central Plant in Cortland, NY.  This position requires a strong leader who is decisive, is a problem solver, thrives in a fast paced environment and whose strengths are in developing their people. You will lead a team who are the heartbeat of our business, that blend the batches of liquid products we make. In this role, you will ensure your department provides the necessary supply of batched product to production necessary to meet our customer needs. The overall scope of this position is to oversee and manage all chemical compounding, pre-weigh, hazardous and non hazardous waste storage/shipment & tank farm operations.

    Essential Job Functions


    • Through key subordinates, coordinate all compounding activities to ensure the production schedule is achieved daily in a reliable and efficient manner
    • Responsible for ensuring all record keeping is conducted and completed according to GMP’s and customer requirements 
    • Devises and implements procedures to prevent compounding or material handling errors. Works closely with the Chemical QA Department in investigating batching errors and implementing corrective actions as needed 
    • Ensures all compounding personnel follow good manufacturing practices (GMP’S) and engage in good housekeeping practices 
    • Responsible for continuous improvement activities in compounding department – optimize existing processes, procedures and batching instructions. Evaluate, design, and install process systems that will improve compounding capability and productivity 
    • Accountable for accurate usage reporting of chemical raw material (bulk & non-bulk) & finished bulk product 
    • Maintains inventory on all equipment and safety supplies needed for the department. Manages Compounders’ work schedule to ensure proper staffing for uninterrupted support of production lines across all shifts 
    • Provides a safe working environment for all compounding areas and promote safety awareness to ensure zero lost time accidents
    • Leads activities to improve the overall department efficiency, professionalism and appearance.


    •  Bachelor degree in Engineering or Science, preferably ChE, ME or Chemist
      10+ years experience in a Compounding, Production Management or Project Management role leading at least 25 staff members
    • Must have experience handling the key responsibilities a leadership team member at a plant would encounter such as admin, safety, investigations, projects, systems, procedures, etc
    • Ideally background has been in either Food, Beverage, Chemical, or Pharma industry
