    Position Summary

    The Divisional VP of Human Resources is responsible for all of the people aspects of the division, serving as a solid partner to the president to help drive change and establish a sense of urgency though the organization. Position will establish credibility as an effective problem solver of people issues. The position is responsible for strategic human resource planning and execution, ultimately providing the organization with the best talent available to support the business strategy.  This position is a critical member of the divisional leadership team and will also sit on and influence the Company HR Leadership team and highly influence company policy.

     

    Essential Job Functions

    • Works with the division president and leadership team to drive organizational change and overall organization effectiveness.
    • Works with plant general managers and local HR to drive necessary operational improvements from a people perspective (e.g., staffing, training, turnover reduction)
    • Plans, develops, organizes, implements, directs and evaluates the organization's human resource function and performance.
    • Participates in the development of the organization's plans and programs as a strategic partner, but particularly from the perspective of improving talent.
    • Develops talent strategies and implementation plans to identify talent gaps and close them.
    • Develops progressive and proactive compensation programs to provide motivation, incentives and rewards for effective performance.
    • Maintains knowledge of HR policies, programs, laws and issues. Provides technical advice and knowledge to others within the human resource discipline.

    Travel

    • This position will require higher than 50% travel initially, and a minimum of 50% on an ongoing basis. Travel will be in the US and Canada

    Qualifications

    Required Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
    • SHRM-SCP certification a plus.
    • 10-15 years HR Leadership experience in a manufacturing company.
    • Strong HR plant operations, including union, experience in multi plant site environment
    • Drives action and holds people accountable
    • Strong personality with intensity and presence
    • Turnaround experience, repositioning and helping the business get better
    • Fast paced, hands on ability
    • Driving organizational effectiveness and change / being the voice of reason
    • Good influencer
    • Leadership skills leading team of multiple HRMs
