    KIK Consumer Brands – Household Division

    Our Household Division (“Household”) is the #1 player in North American private label bleach, and supplies private label cleaning programs to prominent American retailers. Although Household started as a small bleach plant in Concord, Ontario, we have since expanded to a network of 8 plants strategically located across the United States to efficiently manufacture a variety of cleaners for both hard and soft surfaces. . In addition to its private label portfolio, Household manufactures and markets Greased Lighting® and The Works® branded products.

     

    SUMMARY: The VP KCB Household Marketing is a key marketing and business leadership position accountable for leading and developing a portfolio of brands within the Household Division.  This individual will own and drive the strategic & marketing plan process to grow the portfolio of Brands, including: Comet, Top Job, The Works, Greased Lightning, Spic & Span, Chore Boy and will own full P&L accountability for this branded business.  This position will report directly to the Divisional President and will work with direct interaction with the heads of Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance as the role will support all brand management/development activities, customer trade spend investment analytics, new product introductions and product launches, along with all other brand building activities. They will direct assigned brands on business integration, leading the growth strategy, and to create a collaborative team culture for their assigned brands working in partnership with the Sales, directly with Customers and with other cross-functional team members.

    Essential Job Functions

    Responsibilities:

    • Establish the vision, strategic direction, and leadership for the market segment and brands within the Household Division.  Help in development and day to day management of key P&L components of each of the Household branded products.
    • Develop and execute comprehensive strategic marketing plans and programs, both short and long range, to support sales and revenue objectives of organization.
    • Directly manage execution of product changes, launches, and other important drivers across the branded portfolio.  This includes direct management of Product Management executors who are accountable for insuring all activities and timelines are developed, tracked, and completed for each core brand or product initiative. 
    • Build strong partnerships and establish credibility with the internal KIK team, based upon a demonstrated collaborative approach, leadership skills and experience.
    • Collaborate with teams in commercial planning, sales and R&D to develop best-in-class, high performing trade marketing programs and tactics that ensure excellent execution at retail and resonate with consumers.
    • Ensure that commercial product innovation, pack type execution, and consumer promotions/planning are optimized to enable profitable growth (emphasis on cost structure, SKU mix, manufacturing, and price realization are optimized to drive consumer demand and margin expansion
    • Manage and support the selling process in conjunction with Sales including all sales communications and materials, coordinating deliverables timelines across multiple functions to ensure Sales team is fully equipped for successful sell-in.
    • Act as the internal subject matter expert for the Division in understanding each brands’ consumers, their behavior and motivations.
    • Monitor retail, media and consumer trends and determine implications for our business.
    • Work collaboratively with the R&D team to evaluate the market, identify opportunity for innovation, and merchandise product effectively in the market. Own the business aspect of that innovation and merchandising.
    • Manage Product Marketing, including new product launches, promoting existing products and features to increase usage.
    • Develop strategies to improve/maximize Trade Investment ROI by completing promotion analysis and validate against expected result.
    • Be responsible for all strategic and tactical aspects of branding, marketing communications, product launch and management, and the various aspects of merchandising.
    • Own the annual trade management planning process relative to the Sales Organization and be accountable for the execution of budget metrics.
    • Research, analyze, and monitor financial, technological, and demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities and minimize effects of competitive activity.
    • Develop and recommend product positioning, packaging, and marketing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
    • Develop and oversee brand’s digital and social media strategy and relationships across all Social Platforms (Twitter/Facebook/Instagram/Snapchat) with appropriate corporate/legal governance.
    • Develop KPI’s for all marketing initiatives as well as year-long maintenance programs across all owned channels as well as external partnerships.
    • Establish and provide clear direction to team to ensure brand initiatives are consistent with brand goals, priorities and strategies to deliver the organizational business goals.
    • Drive prioritization of resources (people, budget, capital).
    • Ensure line of sight to all goals and objectives – overall corporate to individual.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    • MBA preferred with 10+ years of relevant marketing experience
    • 7+ years’ experience leading a multi-functional digital marketing team or organization with direct oversight of some or all of the following: marketing strategy, social media, paid media, mobile media, app marketing (iOs and Android), consumer activations, partnership marketing, influencer marketing, content development, creative development and retail.
    • Strong Trade Marketing & promotional execution expertise essential
    • Consumer packaged goods experience in providing in-depth knowledge of consumer and trade marketing.  Experience with CPG company directly managing customer activities either in market in in CPG headquarter role. 
    • Product management and innovation development expertise
    • Commitment to results; ability to incorporate new learning into existing plans and act decisively.
    • Significant experience in developing advertising, new products and media plans, and working with Sales.
