    KIK Consumer Brands – Automotive Division

    Our Automotive business is comprised of the Prestone® and Holts® businesses. We develop, manufacture and market antifreeze/coolant and other automotive functional fluids and car appearance products in North America and key international markets. Prestone® is the number one branded consumer choice for antifreeze/coolant in North America. Other brands in our Automotive Care business include Holts®, Redex® and Simoniz® (outside North America).

     

    SUMMARY:

    The “Position” is within our Automotive division located in Freehold, NJ.  The Production Supervisor will be a key member of the Plant Management team. The responsibilities include achieving adherence of daily packaging line schedule, including production line standard rates, labor efficiencies, product quality, overall Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP/Housekeeping) and employee safety. Additional accountabilities for this role are shift’s overall preparation to run, including coordination of line mechanical set-ups, product supply from compounding, material supply from leads and warehousing that meets scheduled line start-up.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Responsible for supervising activities of production lines to achieve production rates that meet or exceed standards (including efficient changeovers)
    • Responsible for the training and performance management of team members to ensure that each line is staffed with qualified and motivated individuals
    • Ensure the identification of product quality problems and implementation of corrective actions
    • Utilize theory of constraints or lean manufacturing techniques to evaluate and manage production counts, machine speeds, scrap and downtime to drive reliability to desired levels
    • Record and report accurate production counts, machine speeds, scrap counts, line down time, and other data as directed by Production Manager
    • Track and Report on Equipment Downtime and Equipment Needs to the Maintenance Division
    • Ensure adequate supply of materials (PSN Tickets, staging and de-staging)
    • Responsible for using correct product labor/speed standard
    • Enforce all GMP’s, Safety and Environmental regulations as well as company policies
    • Ensure the accurate and timely completion of paperwork
    • Able to meet deadlines to deliver production requirements (Flexible work schedule)
    • Must be driven with a desire to progress through promotion
    • Perform other duties/tasks as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • 3-7 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment (Plastics and/or Packaging)
    • Experience with chemical production and/or filling lines
    • Preferred knowledge of Maintenance and Mechanical Preventative Reporting Systems
    • Preferred knowledge of Plastic Extrusion or Contract Filling
    • Customer focused; Must be flexible in dealing with others in the organization, and with work assignments/projects.
    • Good problem solving skills, strong Leadership abilities.
    • Strong computer skills in the use of Excel (intermediate user i.e. spreadsheet set up, basic formulas, labeling sorting data, filtering through data, pivot tables) and MicroSoft Word.
    • Awareness of Industrial Safety Issues.
    • Must be able to demonstrate clear understanding and utilization of Lean Manufacturing Principles, 5s and Continuous Improvement Projects.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as organizational skills.
