    KIK Consumer Brands – Automotive Division

    Our Automotive business is comprised of the Prestone® and Holts® businesses. We develop, manufacture and market antifreeze/coolant and other automotive functional fluids and car appearance products in North America and key international markets. Prestone® is the number one branded consumer choice for antifreeze/coolant in North America. Other brands in our Automotive Care business include Holts®, Redex® and Simoniz® (outside North America).


    KIK Customer Brands - Hospitality

    Our Hospitality business, operating as Marietta Hospitality, is a leading North American provider of guest amenities supplying several national and international hotel chains and resorts with single-use personal care products such as shampoos, conditioners, lotions, body wash and bar soap. Our Marietta Hospitality business also partners with leading brands to offer custom amenity programs to our hotel and resort customers.


    Summary: Provides comprehensive Human Resources support and guidance to the business leaders to ultimately improve talent level in the organization and align people capabilities with business objectives. Ensures that all plant HR activities are performed in a legal, ethical, and credible way. Develops and implements Human Resources programs and policies in support of the business imperatives.  In partnership with plant GM and Director HR, proactively identifies improvements, determines and implements short and long term strategies concerning plant talent capabilities, efficiency, and other matters. Advocates employees, drives administrative efficiencies, and continually strives to understand how HR supports the business for bottom-line site improvement. Understands and promotes the critical balance between site and corporate HR objectives.

    SUMMURY: The Cost Accountant position is within our Automotive Division and is responsible for the accurate costing of raw materials, WIP & finished goods within the Company’s ERP system. This includes monthly maintenance of standard costs, correction of costing errors, setting up new part numbers and the annual standard setting of labor and overhead rates. The ability to analyze, investigate and make proper conclusions of unusual inventory activity or inconsistencies is critical.

    Additionally, this position will be heavily involved in month-end close preparing journal entries for production absorption, PPV, Excess and Obsolete, and miscellaneous inventory accruals. This position will also have general ledger responsibilities for CIP and fixed asset accounting and other balance sheet accruals / accounts.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Responsible for costing new products, correcting costing errors and ensuring that BOMs are accurate and reflect true manufacturing costs thru consistent audit of Prestone’s manufacturing routings and processes.
    • Responsible for the analysis and reconciliation of perpetual inventory records to the related balance sheet accounts and makes sure that any adjusting JEs are prepared and posted.
    • Will prepare several month-end close journal entries and complete assigned balance sheet reconciliations for both cost and general accounting areas.
    • Maintain CIP ledgers for three manufacturing facilities and corporate cost center.. Reconcile fixed asset ledgers to the GL, reporting fixed assets schedule monthly
    • Completion of weekly/monthly updates for product returns, production scrap and plant unit production and identify any possible issues which could impact plant manufacturing or accounting results.
    • Responsible for reviewing and approving Work Order variances weekly.
    • Position works with oversight of the Operations Controller in implementation of key initiatives as well as daily inventory management controls and quarterly review of inventory reserves.
    • Along with the Operations Controller and Senior Financial Analyst will assist in the preparation of the plants’ annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
    • Supervise the completion of physical and cycle count inventory observations and complete analysis of results.
    • Manage cycle count inventory observations results and complete follow-up analysis of results and recounts.
    • Support KIK Corp special requests as needed.
    • Provides support for reporting and internal control activities to ensure integrity of financial information as well as good internal control practices.
    • Responsible for inventory adjustments and reporting for all KIK Prestone Plants


    BS in Accounting

    5-7 years of progressive financial accounting experience in a manufacturing environment with heavy focus on cost accounting

    • Experience working with operations, engineering and manufacturing team members on the development and analysis of cost standards
    • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to work with members of finance, manufacturing and engineering to solve problems
    • Sound understanding of accounting principles
    • Detail orientated with strong communication skills and work ethic
    • Strong excel and ERP skills. JD Edwards experience a plus
    • Excellent verbal and written communication
    • Continuous improvement thought process
    • One to three years related experience
    • Understanding of Lean/Six Sigma tools a plus
    • Excellent communication skill set (verbal, written, etc.)
    • Team building skill set and positive interaction with all levels within the organization and outside vendors/customers
    • Able to lift up to 20 pounds and meet physical requirements of position including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, reaching with both hands/arms.
