    Position Summary

    Custom Division's Danville, IL contract manufacturing plant is located conveniently in Danville with 300,000 square feet of production space. The facility runs 24 hours at 5 days a week and is registered and compliant with the FDA, EPA, & cGMP. This plant contains 9 aerosol production lines for pressurized products. It also has 3 liquid production lines and manufactures personal care and OTC products.

     

    Position Summary

    The Compounding Manager receives and batches chemicals as necessary to supply production and meet customer needs. Supervise all chemical compounding, pre-weigh,  hazardous and non hazardous waste storage/shipment & tank farm operations. Oversees activities of 3 shifts operating 24/5.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Supervise all compounders, pre-weigh operators, C&S operators, tank farm operators in the safe, effective & productive delivery of their responsibilities.
    • Distribute required daily reports to the necessary departments.
    • Check all compounding documentation for completion and accuracy.
    • Ensure that required compounding equipment is maintained in good working order, clean and available for use as needed.
    • Ensure all compounding personnel follow good manufacturing practices (GMP’S) and engage in good housekeeping practices.
    • Responsible for continuous improvement activities in compounding department – optimize existing processes, procedures and batching instructions. Identify equipment & techniques to carry out batching activities with progressively reduced reliance on manual operations.
    • Accountable for accurate usage reporting of chemical raw material (bulk & non-bulk) & finished bulk product.
    • Maintain inventory on all equipment and safety supplies needed for the department.
    • Ensure compliance with proper PPE.
    • Help maintenance department in identifying equipment & areas that should be included in the preventive maintenance system. 
    • Train and qualify new compounders.
    • Manage compounders’ work schedule to ensure proper  staffing for un-interrupted support of production lines across all shifts.
    • Obtain W.O.’s and verify their accuracy prior to use. Report WO inconsistencies to specifications department or any other department as needed.
    • Undergo all required OSHA & EPA mandated training.
    • Participate in new test batches, process validation & documentation.
    • Carry out other duties as may be assigned by immediate supervisor.
    • Conduct annual performance review of all compounding personnel.
    • Must receive training on all relevant compounding SOP’s within first 3 months.

    Qualifications

    • College degree and managing or supervising production operations or will consider equivalent combination of education and compounding supervisory experience (6 yrs) in lieu of degree
    • Good leadership skills
    • Ability to problem solve
    • Effective Communication skills
    • Computational & analytical skills. Able to use all MS Office software applications.
    • Due to the complex nature of this job, safety & regulatory requirements – individual must be able to read, write & communicate in English.
