    KIK Consumer Brands – Automotive Division

    Our Automotive business is comprised of the Prestone® and Holts® businesses. We develop, manufacture and market antifreeze/coolant and other automotive functional fluids and car appearance products in North America and key international markets. Prestone® is the number one branded consumer choice for antifreeze/coolant in North America. Other brands in our Automotive Care business include Holts®, Redex® and Simoniz® (outside North America).

    Location: Alsip, IL

    The Assistant Controller is responsible for completing the financial reporting process including managing the period-end close process and assistance in the budgeting & forecasting process.  Hands-on daily responsibilities include: preparation of account reconciliations and analysis on a timely basis and is responsible for assisting with Cost Accounting (including review of inventory standards), Financial Analysis, labor efficiency reporting for production departments, and month end closing procedures.


    Essential Job Functions


    • Manages the period-end close process including the preparation of financial reports and analysis.
    • Prepares account reconciliations and analysis on a timely basis.
    • Variance analysis and communication to plant and divisional management.
    • Maintains and establishes internal controls.
    • Assists with budgeting and forecasting processes.
    • Maintenance of the general ledger and supporting documentation.
    • Preparation of sales tax returns.
    • Assists with the Development and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures.
    • Coordinates with internal and external auditors.
    • Assists with standard versus actual cost analysis & reports findings to Controller


    Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance, MBA  / CMA  / CPA is an asset


    • Candidate should be proficient with US GAAP, accounting knowledge specific to manufacturing
    • 3 to 5 years’ experience in a plant accountant position in manufacturing or 2 yrs in Public Accounting conducting audits of manufacturing clients.  (audit experience in Not for Profit / Financial institution, tax, non-manufacturing, etc is not acceptable for this position),
    • Preference is for at least (1) one experience in hands-on plant cost accounting function
    • ERP Systems experience, JDE an asset
    • Strong MS Office skills particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint
    • JD Edwards a significant asset
    • Strong analytical skills.
