    KIK's Custom Division contract manufacturing network consists of 8 locations throughout North America.

     

    KCM Division's Danville, IL contract manufacturing plant is located conveniently in Danville with 300,000 square feet of production space. The facility runs 24 hours at 5 days a week and is registered and compliant with the FDA, EPA, & cGMP. This plant contains 9 aerosol production lines for pressurized products. It also has 3 liquid production lines and manufactures personal care and OTC products.

     

    Position Summary

    Organizes and assigns all compounding personnel to activities as indicated by the short-term production schedule. Ensures quality, and the efficiency of batching process. Responsible for facility GMP adherence and good record keeping on Compounding floor and maintenance of compounding department equipment.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Supervises and directs the operation of the Compounding Department for the shift.
    • Trains all subordinates and new hires to ensure that they perform their roles effectively.
    • Work with Safety personnel and Quality Assurance personnel to ensure all precautions are taken in handling chemicals.
    • Ensures that all products are batched according to the manufacturing instructions provided and that all batch paperwork is completed in an accurate and thorough manner.
    • Communicates with Logistics, Production, Lab, and Materials to ensure the timely and efficient production of our customer requirements.
    • Effectively handles drain out materials, waste materials and obsolete materials and promptly reports any spills
    • Ensures that intermediate and finished product samples are forwarded to the lab for testing and released in a timely manner.
    • Ensures that proper levels of Good Manufacturing Practices, Health and Safety and Housekeeping rules are maintained and that regulatory requirements are met at all times.    

    Qualifications

    • Two-year degree is required, willing to consider total of 5 years (3 years in batch process / blending /Compounding position and 2 years in a supervisory role)  in lieu of degree.
    • Must be a good communicator, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity, will lead a team of 10 - 15 hourly staff.  Union employee performance management experience is a plus.
    • Experience in Lean Manufacturing environment and/or familiartiy with Lean tools is a plus.
    • Technical strengths in product quality assurance, knowledge of Quality Standards and experience in liquids product packaging standards, (TPP & FDA) cGMP regulations including ISO a plus.
    • Must be assertvie and process / procedures oriented.
