    This position provides dedicated support to one plant in the KPC network and is based at either our Rosemont HQs in Chicago or our CBI Plant location in Fort Worth, TX.

     

    Position Summary:

    The Senior Financial Analyst supports the activities of the Plant Controller and performs the cost accounting function and provides accounting assistance in all areas of the financial statements, including reporting on plant financial status by preparing and analyzing financial plans, forecasts, and reports.  This is an excellent opportunity for a strong Financial Analyst ready to take the next step.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Assist in the preparation of profit and loss statements and monthly closing and cost accounting reports, including month-end closing functions (journal entries, reconciling accruals, pre-paids, payroll, and other accounts). 
    • Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
    • Provides assistance in developing and analyzing operating budgets and forecasts, and prepares financial reports. Tracks financial status by monitoring variances from plan and forecasts.
    • Review revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents. Analyze revenue and expenditure trends and recommend appropriate budget levels, and ensure expenditure control.
    • Provides information to management by assembling and summarizing data; assisting in the preparation of reports and presentations of findings, analyses, and recommendations.  Increases productivity by developing automated applications; eliminating duplications; coordinating information requirements.
    • Analyzes cost data obtained from the system and regularly understands variances between standard costs to actual production costs.
    • Works with production and supply chain groups to update bill of material standard costs and perform monthly cost roll-ups; report on periodic variances and their causes, and assists with physical inventories and cycle counts.
    • Create and review the controls needed for data accumulation and reporting systems.
    • Performs ad hoc projects as requested by the Controller and/or Assistant Controller.
    • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
    • Accomplishes finance and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in related discipline
    • 3+ Years Experience in Manufacturing Accounting
    • At least 1 year of cost accounting experience
    • Knowledge of accounting transaction flows, including system interfaces, account reconciliations, and internal controls.
    • Travel up to 50% will be required
    • Intermediate to advanced user of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Current systems used at plant are JD Edwards E1 and MFG PRO.Reporting Skills, Informing Others, Financial Skills, Forecasting, Corporate Finance, Financial Diagnosis, Financial Software, Analyzing Information , Statistical Analysis, Process Improvement, Financial Planning and Strategy
    • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, flexible environment with minimal supervision in order to prioritize and meet project deadlines. Must possess a high degree of attention to detail and organization.
