    KIK Custom Manufacturing division fills approximately 25% of all home and personal care aerosol products in the United States. Our multi-product manufacturing and packaging capabilities include an extensive portfolio of aerosol, liquid, gel and cream products. Seven of our plants are FDA certified, and we produce OTC products including sunscreen, depilatories, oral care, skin care, haircare, and topical treatments among others. This position will be based in the Greater Los Angeles area.


    Custom Division's Ontario, California based R&D Lab is expanding our Innovations team and has an immediate need for an Innovation Aerosol/Liquid Chemist. We are seeking a creative formulation development professional with strengths in aerosol and liquid development of skincare, haircare and beauty products. This vital support role is responsible for executing a wide range of day-to-day formulations, QA and stability testing procedures for the haircare/skincare/beauty products development and production.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Development or improvement of new or existing aerosol haircare/skincare/beauty products
    • Analytical and stability testing in accordance with approved protocols, methods and SOP’s
    • Investigation and troubleshooting of out of specification batches and formula related customer complaints
    • Sourcing of new Chemicals and Packaging for product development
    • Weekly reports
    • Supervision of pilot and full-scale qualification batches
    • Support innovative activity by developing new aerosol products and processes
    • Develop and validate analytical chemistry test procedures for personal care products ensuring accurate results are produced
    • Conduct and monitor product stability testing of all experimental formulae in a timely manner
    • Assist in developing product performance test method to screen experimental formulae prior to a third party submission
    • Maintain all lab records up to date per GMP-GLP requirements to include MSDSs, product/raw material specifications, third party test results, logbooks and all other lab records as required
    • Work with sales and lab to develop new markets and line extensions for existing brands
    • Maintain accuracy and reliability of all laboratory instruments
    • Interface with plant Technical Services for product and method transfers





    • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, or related science
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience with strong bench formulation in Aerosol Personal Care products
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Analytical Chemistry
